Our Mission

The Promise Fund’s mission is to increase survivorship from breast and cervical cancer by providing guided support and access to screenings, as well as early detection, treatment, and beyond. Our model gives every woman the opportunity to attain health care, regardless of who she is, where she lives, or her level of income. That’s our promise.

Knot Symbolism

Around the world or around the corner, knots represent an unbreakable commitment.

Choosing a knot as the visual symbol for Promise Fund has personal and heartfelt meaning. At its core, the knot represents our founding promise – to provide underserved women with guided access to screenings, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care. It’s a promise we intend to keep.

Knots are also symbols of strength and dependability, just as women can always rely on Promise Fund to provide access to the care they need and guidance at every step along their journey to wellness.

Lastly, knots are flexible and can adapt seamlessly to any challenge. Promise Fund will always adapt and be where we are needed, evolving as we continue to provide access to care for every woman.

Promise Fund seeks to increase survivorship through early detection by utilizing the following strategies:

  • Our Navigators help guide individuals and provide one-on-one assistance through their journey from screening, diagnosis, treatment and completion of care.

The Promise Fund of Florida partners with local community-based organizations to fund Navigators who connect at-risk individuals with health care providers for breast and cervical health screenings and services.

Services Include: Mammograms, pap smears, clinical breast exams, diagnostics, treatment.

Promise Fund Navigators connect patients with a wide variety of resources to assist with transportation, enrollment in health plans, financial assistance, and other issues which can be obstacles to a patient accessing screening and treatment.

Research has shown that patients who have worked with Navigators have significantly better health outcomes and survival rates. The Navigator’s role is critical to saving lives, helping patients receive early diagnosis and treatment which improves quality of life and saves healthcare dollars.

  • A core part of our work starts within the community. Our Navigators conduct regular, ongoing community outreach and education at health fairs, nonprofit and community events, and with faith-based groups to raise awareness of the importance of early detection screenings, and facilitates access to quality healthcare for those requiring diagnostics and treatment.

  • The Promise Fund partners with local and national established organizations to streamline patient care services and determine affordable pricing for low income residents who are uninsured or underinsured so they can get access to essential healthcare needs.

  • The Promise Fund is active on the local, state and federal levels to influence public policy resulting in effective disbursement of healthcare dollars to help those most at risk in our society and improve access to breast and cervical healthcare.
